I could consider religion Study the portents and the signs Maybe decide that there’s no point in anything Or I could look deep inside Listen to a heart in need still beating Breathe deep and open up my mouth to sing And have faith in time It’s all going to work somehow I have the sweat of my brow That’s everything in the here and now I have faith in time More than good sense will allow Let’s write a new page and rage on this stage before our final bow I could consider the science To be fair it’s gotten us this far It’s helped us to thrive even saved a few lives So while I’m still alive and free I can choose to act accordingly on behalf of whatever helps the world survive What will help the world survive is faith in time

Fan Service 03:44
It will always be a source of friction that you asked me to co-create the fiction or live inside a love revealed to be another lie There's no in-joke inside Just winks and asides these celebrity cameos a little too on the nose Now there's no one left to enthrall against this failed fourth wall No fan service Your teases are direct and deliberate But these good times that you threaten me with are pushes and shoves revealed to be another lie
3.
Finished 03:57
Under the mirrorball you think you see them all Hundreds of thousands of super sharp spotlights Shining down above us almost as if they love us Spinning round overhead in noises and nights Are you finished or are you done When it’s over did you have fun And moving like distant stars in perpetual motion And watching us dance until the world is out of time Or maybe like fish underneath waves of an ocean As every question unanswered becomes a bit sublime Started out trading moments in time for memories Reflecting upon reflection dazzled by misdirection Discovering how emotions supercharged your energy How physical presence is no substitute for affection Keep moving like distant stars in perpetual motion Keep watching us dance until the world is out of time Keep watching us dance until we see the rising sun As every question answered slowly shrinks to one

Found 03:12
I’m found I’m found and I’m gonna stay around for a while and I’ll smile because it feels good to I’m found I’m found and this is the happy sound I make out loud when I know where I am and what to do I didn’t always know How to move, where to go I didn’t always plainly see all of what was meant for me Not so long ago I tried to cope poor tools worse information But even lost I still had hope Of elation in a better location
5.
I thought that I could be untrue Untied from you and my premise was sadly correct but I could only connect with lookalikes I saw with your worst virtues and your best flaws There’s no point in escape velocity while still seeking some reciprocity Heartstring theory has me in a state Simultaneously early and then too late All physics no feel, a death worse than fate And I lose because I hesitate I thought that I could be unbound Unknotted with you not around bit I find gravity upsets even random objects I need to see what I saw All your worst virtues all your best flaws There’s no quantity of quantum joy Until you let me be your girl or your boy
6.
Incendiary 03:51
You're a snowflake in an avalanche falling from a height when warmer weather's calling passing up your chance to be history's actor to blame a backstory's fractional factor Now that we are splintered shards and moving on to other hard truths Justifications fill my dance card for how well I never knew you If others won't believe in the better world why respond to cries of distress and disaster? there'll never be some flapping flag unfurled under which all may salute some mighty master Now that we are splintered shards and moving on to other cruelties Justifications fill my dance card for how well you never knew me We watch the sparks We mind the wind In case what catches fire gets scary We’re wide of the mark But that’s what we find When disposing of something incendiary
7.
I realized the other day that we don’t work the way we ought to With you I never get my way I’m captured when I thought I caught you Every moment that we spend feels authentically like pretend Used to be what was real required faking Now I see the mess we’re making If it isn’t you then maybe it must be me And now the sun is out the low clouds tossed aside by new breeze It’s a moment I can’t help but capture so hold this camera and say cheese Every moment that we spent has given up the ghost gotten up and went Used to bend to keep from breaking Now we see what I’m no longer taking
8.
Levels 02:44
I know you can’t hear me More likely to laugh at my look than fear me Easily dismissed as such Everything everyone ain’t meant to stay in touch This is not an arcade No save point just a slow fade This situation serious as your life These levels don’t care if you don’t survive I see you taking chances Ain’t promised happy endings in romances Careless when bellies rumble as if you could care less if a bag you fumble I told you look out But even lookouts have limits my dude The next time it’s silent Sound you hear'll be me not talking to you
9.
Machinery 02:49
It’s not me It’s just the machinery Extending me everywhere but it’s not as if you care It’s not you you’re the machinery too buttons and gears between everything seen and unseen It’s not us we’re the machinery we trust we give it power over wishes it asks us gently if we mean vicious It’s not them they know you’ve got machinery too they set in motion a competition we know how it comes to fruition It’s just machinery
10.
Mercy 03:31
When you said love was a hard sell I didn’t think you were thinking prison Then you begged my pardon and I said well Seeing yourself without me takes vision I’m no officer I’m no jury or judge But your ruling may get me to hold a grudge Make mine mercy Spare this love one day more make mine mercy and don’t run out the jail door I told you love is a delayed hearing A jury box with everyone in it missing A courtroom with no need of clearing And a blindfolded lady can’t see us kissing But I’ll beg even though you won’t budge Consider me for clemency here’s a tiny nudge
11.
Needle swings within the compass housing points toward the door just before they walk in suddenly you’re wearing what on anyone else without your good looks would be the silliest grin I could be truly sad if I had even the nerve the courage or the spine to make you aware of me the way dawn greets day or dusk melts into night at least it would be all right but it will never be all right Needle swings within the compass housing points toward the window just before they bid adieu the grin fades as it came a glowing array going away but somehow in its absence leaving something new Needle swings within the compass housing points toward my face just as mine points back A magic sign as magnets align as maps unfold and expand Lucky we’ve two compasses to survey and explore this new land
12.
These days thesauruses and dictionairies taunt me from bookshelves, say how dare he show his face around the place in the wake of his last big mistake, he was shown to be fake If I could have said everything found a way to make the words sing They’d have flown from my mouth maybe none of it would’ve gone south between us back then, leaving me remembering when I could say everything I couldn’t say what my lover was needing to hear, so the tears and the feelings appeared and the text messages, well, they were left on read and the deed has been done, there will be no more fun I wish I could say everything as if everything would bring my lover back as if everything was everything that we lacked
13.
There are people around me and they're following signs Pulling into parking lots and plodding in straight lines Tuning out safety messages meant to soothe their fears Waiting for takeoff and chewing gum to spare their ears Some drive hundreds of miles for that airport kiss Some fly thousands of miles for that airport kiss There's a person who won't be at the gate when I land No signs or parking lots or straight lines for 'em to stand No safety messages for that solo flight's passenger Their ceiling is clearly unlimited so why am I not happier Some drive hundreds of miles for that airport kiss Some fly thousands of miles for that airport kiss Two lips meeting two lips Two arms in two arms entwined Breath and body taking trips Love giving eyesight to the blind Two lips meeting two lips With post-baggage pickup plans Not to mention travel tips Lovemaking, it still has its fans
14.
A party on the city edge was where my eyes met yours A chair I sat in quietly until you came through those doors A crowd that ebbed and flowed like water filtered by mesh A lap you sat in and arms that held you against my flesh The afterlife I'm not scared of as much as I am the afterlove A leg that gently trembled underneath your willing mass A hand sloping down shoulders settling against your ass A back that leaned into my front and bent to turn my way A mouth finding mine and speaking without a word to say A ride through the city over a bridge to a subway station A note seeking to meet and maybe test out infatuation An answer ruling out anything similar to previous events An answer ruling out anything
15.
Language was never your strong suit oh I wished you were smart as you were cute but we all receive certain talents in life mine was to steer you through your strife I was the interpreter between me and you, between him and her I filled in the whistling gap between who you were, where you were on the map Words were what you needed to know And others’ ears needed to hear your show I was a necessary intermediary Compensated occasionally, let’s say very Image as everything was the scripture Love should never have entered the picture but we all receive certain duties on the job yours was to ignore my every lovelorn sob

Way To You 03:16
I once knew happiness and heat warmth and color bright and sweet Darkness was a fairy tale some told Be careful of the waning moon the shadowy opposite of noon Lock your windows up block out the cold Now I’m here for you tonight I know I’m an unexpected sight Don’t wanna know your kindness Let’s try out temporary blindness And the way I feel I feel some type of way I’m feeling my way to you Hoping you’ll see me through All I ever knew was random official but superficial fandoms A million tiny manufactured consents But over time I grew to hate them I could roll my eyes and outwait them or report for duty, offer you my assents Now I’m here for you tonight I know I’m an unexpected sight Don’t wanna know your sadness Let’s try out temporary madness And the way I feel I feel some type of way I’m feeling my way to you Hoping you’ll see me through Appealing to stay with you Hoping you’ll say what to do
